TJ's Pasta Jars

I am a huge fan of Trader Joe's. I maybe am even a little obsessed.

I generally buy majority of my pasta fixins there. They have some great quality products and reasonable prices. Only downside is that they don't have coupons, but I can cope with that.

Recently I made a discovery that has really made me fall in love with TJ all over again. I try and reuse jars whenever I can. I usually just wash them and remove the label and come up with some idea or send them to recycling.

TJ's has these pasta sauces, we are always trying new ones, to break up the daily monotony. Some of these cost a few cents more than the basic sauce, but check out what you get!!!!

Are you getting excited about these jars yet? probably not, but whatevs.

They are actually fabulous Mason Jars.

Complete with measurements on the side of the jars.

If you have a weird fascination with Mason jars like I do, than you understand how happy this makes me. Mason jars you buy at the store are usually a couple bucks, the bigger the jar the more they cost. They are pretty and useful, but not so cheap.
But TJ's has decided that not only do you get a yummy Pasta Sauce, now you get a souvenir as well.

Thank You Trader Joe for this.

I have no clue what I am going to do just yet, but its going to be sweet.

HOW DO YOU REMOVE THE LABELS OF OF JARS??

Good Question, I have tried several ways, and I am always game to try new ways. But my go-to has been very basic.
Fill a sink with Hot water, Dawn dish soap & about a cup of vinegar ( I eyeball it).
I put my jars, bottles, & whatnot in there and let them soak for about an hour.

WHen you check on them, the labels may already be falling off. If not, I grab a butter knife, really just something not sharp and use it to help get the labels off, they peel right off. Sometimes, they do leave some residue behind, and that ok. I use some rubbing alcohol and a dish rag, and scrub. it usually gets majority of it off.

See my finished product above, ain't she pretty?

Stay Tuned to see what I decide to do with these pretty little jars....

Mini Pretzel dogs & cheese

I am a sucker for those recipe videos that pop up on Facebook daily... they display the ingredients and fast forward to a scrumptious looking meal...it makes you think "Hey, that's super easy, I can totally do that!"

First up, these delectable mini Pretzel dogs.
They were a special request from the hubby.
I never knew that I could make pretzels...and believe it or not, they were pretty easy to pull off and quite delish!!

See the video I used and just follow the directions they give. The only thing I changed was that I used a pizza dough recipe in my bread machine. It's a favorite and I will post a link to that as well!!
